My husband Mark is not a coffee drinker (a challenging situation for someone who is not , but when the season changes he will occasionally indulge in a chai, which warms my cold little heart. Last weekend he and the toddler let me sleep an headed out to collect bagels from our neighborhood bagel spot. He brought back a drink *so incredible* that I have been back twice to get one for myself, and that I have not been able to REST until I semi-successfully recreated.
The magical fall beverage in question that is so excellent it could capture the heart of even the most dedicated coffee drinker?
A chai spiced apple cider. This one is sweet from the cider, but the chai in question comes with enough warming spices that it has a kick to it – you know, the burn in the back of your thought that hurts but in a really amazing delicious way?
I’ve tried about 87 different ways to recreate this at home and this was my most successful. The best part is? You can completely DIY this, or you can make do with a quick trip to the grocery store. I know I’ll be making this on repeat all season, and serving up mugs for trick or treating.
